Background…

My interdisciplinary practice spans over 25 years and is embedded within a comprehensive range of socially engaged outputs from primary, secondary and tertiary educational spaces through to charitable & NHS settings. I’ve designed pop-up, short and long-form collaborative frameworks for institutions as diverse as the National Trust, the Williamson Museum and Art Gallery (Merseyside), the Wilson (Cheltenham) and the Queens’ Own Highlanders Museum (Inverness).

I’ve engaged with the young, vulnerable and the ‘hard-to-reach’ as well as prison learners. From developing strands that cover single modules to contributing to over-arching strategies that populate yearly academic planning, my processes have encompassed collaborative and reflexive working methods across a variety of multi-stakeholder environments. I have concentrated equally upon developing students professional and pastoral capabilities, having previously been a personal tutor during my time at Liverpool John Moores University as a Fine Art Lecturer (covering a period of staff absence). Throughout these interactions my intention has always been to rely upon professional excellence and academic enquiry, alongside developing a reflexive and engaging level of critical discourse into Contemporary Arts Practice. At the heart of this desire is an intention to promote research & practice in equal measures. Differentiation comes as standard within my work having delivered Artists Talks at a wide variety of tertiary institutions including the University of the Highlands and Islands, Hull College of Art and Design, Blackpool and the Fylde College, Harrogate School of Art and Design and Edge Hill University.
